JAR's Corporate History

Established in 1977, JAR provides technical support services under contract with numerous commercial and government technical agencies. JAR employs highly trained and experienced engineering and scientific personnel, on a full-time salaried basis, in support of its major business activities. The JAR engineering staff represents a variety of backgrounds including mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, aerospace, software development, and civil/structural engineering. The typical JAR engineer holds an advanced degree, and has over ten years of application experience in Computer Aided Engineering.

JAR's engineering personnel are not only users of finite element technology, but also possess the unique knowledge of developers. Over their careers, key JAR staff members have made significant contributions to the development of NASTRAN, MARC, and ANSYS. Additionally, JAR staff members have been involved in the development of a variety of special purpose finite element based computer programs dealing with fracture mechanics, acoustics, shock analysis, composites, hyperelastic materials, nonlinear mechanics of oil drilling processes, fluids, fluid structure interaction, and heat transfer.

JAR's varied and extensive expertise is exemplified by the many different types of projects we have undertaken. Below is a sampling of such projects:

Structural Analysis of the Hubble Space Telescope

Simulation of an Angioplastic Surgery Procedure

Redesign of NASA's Solid Rocket Booster

Simulation of Metal Forming Processes and Patent Analysis for
American National Can vs. Ball Corporation

Design and Analysis of a Composite Bicycle Frame

Conceptual Design Analysis of a Family of Changeover Valves

Dynamic Analysis of a Piezoelectric Transducer for an Ultrasonic Welding Device

Nonlinear Finite Element Simulation of Wire Bonding by Capillary Compression

See our gallery for a complete list of projects that represent JAR's technical creativity, skill, and accomplishment.
