Employee Spotlight  -  Chuck Ritter

Chuck Ritter has been with JAR, as you might infer from the company name, from the the beginning in 1977.  In the ensuing 22 years, he has helped the company anticipate and respond to changing customer needs in a variety of industries.

FEA and related computer-based engineering simulations are only about 30 years old in general industry (40+ in aerospace and nuclear).  Chuck has participated in the industry from its early "for gurus only" days through the growth period resulting from acceptance of FEA as a design tool to today's relatively mature market for general purpose engineering design software.  JAR's customers have matured along with the market and now routinely include FEA in the design process in ways undreamt-of in the 1970's.  Chuck sees a bright future for JAR in customized industry specific user interfaces and special purpose application extensions to the current technology as well as in solvers for process simulation and design.

Chuck has succumbed to the sailing bug after many years of living near one of the best places in the US to sail, Narragansett Bay.  June through September, he sails a JY14 with his son Paul.  "There's nothing like a small boat on a big bay for a welcome respite from work day cares.  Heck, when the wind is blowing hard enough, you don't think about anything beyond the next two waves!"
