Kinematic Analysis of a Machine for Cutting and Folding PastaAn ADAMS model was utilized to analyze the kinematic motion and internal forces in a cam-driven mechanism designed to cut and fold pasta as it moves from one conveyor belt to another during manufacture. The simulation included an approximate dynamic analysis of the impact of the folding blade with the pasta during the folding process. Of primary interest were the position, velocity, and acceleration of the blade tip, and the force exerted between the cam and the follower.
