CAD Design and FEA Analysis of a Composite Bicycle Frame

JAR created a new concept design for a composite bicycle frame. The design and analysis process was integrated by sharing geometry between Pro/ENGINEER and ANSYS. The composite structure was analyzed using multiple layer shell elements so that ply orientation (i.e. lay-up) could be accurately considered in the stress and stiffness calculations.
